Food and drink

The seasons and our local food heroes decide the menu at Skjolden Hotel. We believe in the knowledge of local farmers and trust our excellent chefs to make magic.

We believe a great plate of food is straight forward and classic. Beautiful simplicity with rich taste and a visual impact. Following the seasons we make sure our recipes reflect the fantastic landscape and ingredients - collected right outside our doorstep.

On our menu you will find local meat such as pork, deer, goat and beef. Our meats are locally sourced from Aamundsgarden, Larsagarden, Bjørk, Urnes and Mørkridsdalen. We grow fresh herbs, vegetables, fruits and berries in our own orchard and from Hauge farm here in Skjolden.

If you, like us, love seafood, we have fresh fish and crayfish from the Lustrafjord. We use wild mushrooms, wildflowers, cheese, jam, juice and honey from local farms and producers in our kitchen. We have a passionate and exciting relationship with our local suppliers - we call them our heroes!

We believe a good day starts with a piece of good bread. On our tables you will find home baked bread accompanied by a rich cup of coffee. Best enjoyed with a fjord view.

We shop local! Our town has everything our chefs could ask for and more. Almost everything in our kitchen is sourced locally and we are proud of it.

Out team of chefs work creatively and with joy, trying new twists on traditions in a playful and tasteful manner. The joy is reflected in the food - there is no doubt about it.
